Our Story
With a strong foundation created by our founder and built upon by the rest of the team, Sedsman Legal is a leader in estate law in South Australia.
A fresh start
On 1 July 2010, Joan Sedsman opened her specialist wills and estates practice. Joan had worked in the area for most of her career and had been a founding partner of another notable Adelaide estate law firm.
Joan Sedsman becomes Sedsman Legal
By 2015 Joan had been joined in practice by Tamara Solly and Michael Rizzuto. Late that year Joan incorporated the practice and “Joan Sedsman Solicitor” became “Sedsman Legal”.
Exciting changes
Michael started with Joan as a consultant in early 2015 and Joan welcomed him as a co-owner and director in mid-2017. Tamara had worked with Joan since her early days as a law student and in early 2019 joined Joan and Michael as a co-owner and director.
Building for the future
Jennifer joined the team in late 2019, having built a strong reputation as an estate litigator. In mid-2020 Joan stepped away from ownership, with Jennifer joining the partnership to become a co-owner and director with Michael and Tamara. Joan continued to make a huge contribution to the firm as a consultant until her well earned retirement in late 2021. The rest of the team and our excellent support staff work closely together to uphold the legacy and ethos built by Joan and to deliver results for our clients.
